Today marked the first day of the new schedule for the rest of the staff (it doesn't apply to Erin and I since we're the only full time people working there currently), so I spent my morning working with Yailyn, which wasn't as bad as the afternoons have been with her. It was a little frustrating during lunch simply because she was not finished with the diapers (Big surprise there!) by the time lunch came and so it really made serving lunch a lot more difficult.
Finally got to go on my lunch break and went to the post office to check for some mail! The box from my family FINALLY arrived as well as a letter from Sarie from Taiwan! Ah! What a good day. Headed over to the coffee shop, e-mailed Darrick and opened my package. In my package, I got 4 things of Mentos (Thanks, grandma), the new Eminem cd, a Birthday mix from my little sister, a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, some envelopes and my next month of Birth Control. ha ha And Sarie's letter pretty much detailed how awesome we are - in the US, Europe or Taiwan. ha ha
Went back to work, which didn't really excited me, but I did get to work with Yana, so it wasn't so bad. Spent the first hour of the break re-cutting out the stars for the bulletin board I've been working on (I spent 3 days last week cutting stars and Yailyn wanted to glitter some of them with the kids. Asking her what she did with the rest of the stars since I was ready to assemble the bulletin board today, she admitted that she let the kids decorate them and take them home. SERIOUSLY!?! I told her they were for the bulletin board. GRRRR!).
When the kids woke up, it was pretty quick couple of hours since we changed diapers, put the mats away, ate lunch and then went outside. When I cam back inside for the last hour, Yana got yelled at twice within 5 minutes. Once for giving a kid a horsey ride (I can understand that) and then again for dancing with the kids. I guess we're not allowed to dance in a circle with the kids. Yana, frustrated, looked at me and was like, "Why don't they tell me what I freaking can do?" ha ha Then, at 4:30 like every other day for the last two weeks since I got yelled at "not helping clean up at the end of the day," I started draining the water table and cleaning the toys. About 10 minutes in, the intercom came on and Latoya rudely asked me to stop what I was doing and help Yana because the kids were "everywhere." Umm.. Yes, they were everywhere because they were playing and there were only four of them anyway. And, on top of that, Yana has control of them. But, I stopped what I was doing and helped. Seriously ridiculous considering I get yelled at for not helping enough (even though kids were still playing with the toys) and then I get yelled at when I do clean. It's seriously a freaking lose-lose situation at work.
On a side note, I had one of the cutest moments today when Sara called me by name for really the first time without prompting. She says, "Hillalee," which is seriously the most adorable thing in the entire world.
Went and got internet after work, talked to Darrick for a few hours, came home and ate mini corn dogs for dinner, watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother, an episode of Grey's while we ate popcorn and then watched The Wedding Planner while Erin and I both wrote letters to the boys. Now past time for bed. Good night all!
Things I learned today:
1. The old adage about doing what you're told is false. Do as you're told and you'll still get in trouble. Break the rules at least you know you did something to get yelled at for.
