Late night fire alarms....

September 27, 2010

After only 3 1/2 hours of sleep, my alarm went off for work this morning and I stumbled through my morning routine. Getting clammy and hot while I was doing my make-up I stumbled out to the kitchen for some refreshing water, but ended up puking in the sink. With nothing in my stomach and the thought of food nauseating, I packed a lunch for work and then started on the fifteen minute walk to work.

Spent an hour in the baby room with Erin this morning, which was nice considering that we were both exhausted, so someone could feel my pain. Having decided we wouldn't tell anyone about our mishaps last night, Sallie pried it out of me just by looking at my face. Darn she is too intuitive, but she just laughed and told me she was going to check on my other zombie friend. ha ha Spent the rest of the day bouncing between the toddler room and the preschool room, which made for a pretty easy day.

Went to the coffee shop to write Darrick an e-mail since I didn't talk to him yesterday and, managing a small appetite, ate the cereal I didn't eat for breakfast. Went back to work and mixed up our dried playdough with some water, so that it wont crumble and then spent the afternoon doing water table, mini-gym and playdough.

After work, I went and sat in the cold for 2 1/2 hours until Darrick finally got on and talked to him for about 40 minutes before he had to go. Sucks because I have a going away shindig tomorrow night, so I wont be on internet until Wednesday, but that's just how life is.

Came home, ate waffles and scrambled eggs for dinner (lots of protein), watched a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother and wrote postcards to Darrick and my family. Now it's past time for bed considering I am still sleep-deprived from yesterday.

Had literally just crawled into bed and was about asleep, listening to music when this alarm started going off. Erin and I, never having heard it before, originally though that our computers were freaking out and then realized it was the alarm. Walking out in the most attractive wardrobe choice ever and looking like a hot mess, we actually saw smoke pouring out of Cynthia's, another MFLAC lady, room. She had turned on the wrong burner and ended up burning a ladle. About 10 minutes later, we were allowed to go back inside where I tried to fall asleep for about another hour. Blgh! So much for catching up on some sleep tonight.

Things I learned today:
1. Parents, on family days given to them off by the military, will bring their children to daycare for the day.
